Meet Sylvia
Sylvia Fluker Bryant is a seasoned financial services professional and public servant with more than 25 years of experience in auditing, financial operations, compliance, and organizational oversight.
She currently serves as an Internal Auditor with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, where she works to ensure accountability, transparency, and the responsible use of public funds.
In her role at JSO, Sylvia conducts internal audits of departmental financial systems, reviews expenditure reports, evaluates internal controls, and identifies risks across law enforcement and correctional units. Her work helps safeguard taxpayer dollars, strengthen internal processes, and ensure compliance with regulations and policies. She prepares detailed audit reports and provides recommendations to improve financial stewardship and operational integrity.
Prior to joining JSO, Sylvia spent 15 years with Corporate One Federal Credit Union as an Electronic Payments Processing Manager, where she managed complex financial operations, ensured regulatory compliance, and supervised teams responsible for high‑volume, time‑sensitive transactions.
Sylvia is running for City Council to bring real oversight, fiscal responsibility, and accountability to City Hall — and to ensure District 9 residents are heard, respected, and well served.
